It's the last week of November, I can't believe how fast the month has gone! I'm happy that the sickness bug seems to have left our classroom and we now have a full class of students!
Our Learning: We continued our work with Lively Letters, sight words, writing goals, reading. We have started examining the 100's chart and skip counting by 10's to 100. Zero the Hero came to visit us on our 60th day of school too!! Our focus in Social Studies continues to be centered around community. We continue to talk about the "Who" community in Horton Hears a Who. We've also moved into conversations about our home communities and the responsibilities we have there. We got together with our buddies and created a holiday card for homeless people who will not receive one this holiday season, through a program called Make It Merry. Students continue to work on Whole Body Listening in the hopes of becoming the Biscotti Kid! Kindness, sharing, cooperation and effort are always topics of conversation as well! Next Week: It's a 3 day week. No school on Thursday or Friday next week - Dec. 6, 7! Deck the Halls! Wear a holiday sweater, Santa hat, elf ears or even just red and green on Monday! Book orders due on Wednesday Dec. 5. Skip counting practice continues by 5's.
