Our Learning:
This week was our Grinch week! We had a lot of fun writing, drawing and doing some Grinchy art! Thank you to everyone who donated items to the Children's Cottage. Donations were dropped off yesterday and were very appreciated!! I wish everyone a wonderful winter break and we'll see you back at school on January 8! * Please continue working on letters and sounds, reading and counting over the holidays! :)

On Monday, we participated in Deck the Halls with our Grade 5 buddies. Students created elves with their own faces! We continued to work with our Lively Letter program, really focusing on using our letter sound knowledge during independent writing. In math, we've begun counting by 5's. Students are especially loving our games and movement songs! The bulk of our week was spent on Social Studies and continuing to build our sense of community in the classroom and within the school. We talked about our roles and responsibilities and focused on three questions: Who is here? Who is heard? Who needs help? These questions will continue to guide our work throughout the year. Next Week: Lively Letters, Skip Counting (review of 10's and 5's and introducing 2's to 20), interviewing members of our school community about their roles and responsibilities * As some of you know, my brother is currently going through chemotherapy treatments for cancer. He lives in Regina and on Tuesday I'll be flying there to help him and my parents for the remainder of the week. Tamara Foesier will be in for me from Tuesday - Friday. I will continue checking my email while I'm away. |
